2019-20 Infinite Recharge
2020-21 Infinite Recharge at Home
This season saw us start out strong with a new lab and a team of over 20 students. At the beginning of the school year we were gifted with an unused physics lab on the second floor in the College Academy. We moved all our stuff from the closet downstairs in the PLTW room, and then proceeded to get more equipment for the lab. Toyota gifted us with a large tool box and tools to put inside it. The Rotary Club of Greater Huntsville gave us some power tools. Lowe's gave us more power tools.
First semester we worked on recruiting students, participating in Back-to-School activities and hosting International Women in STEM through Global Ties. We were busy with fundraising to pay for travel out of state to a second regional. We planned out our "trinkets and trash" for events and worked on producing buttons, earrings, bookmarks, and other trinkets. We designed a pit and learned how to use power tools. We hosted an open house for parents and sponsors.
Second semester we attended kickoff and then got right to work planning and building our robot. We decided to focus on picking up and launching Power Cells. We registered for the Memphis Regional and were ready to pack a U-Haul trailer when school and events were cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
For the 2021 season we elected not to participate in any of the At Home challenges since it was difficult to coordinate with students due to virtual school.
